Haircuts for a Cause

On Sunday, October 21, the stylists from the JC Penney Salon at Colonial Mall will be offering $5 haircuts to help raise money to send some Veterans to Washington, D.C. Jack Platt, a World War II veteran, is attempting to charter a plane to take a group of fellow Vets to see the WWII Memorial on Veteran’s Day, November 1. A local hair stylist heard about the Murrells Inlet resident’s plan and decided to help out the cause. She and seven of her co-workers will gather at the Little River VFW Post on 111 Highway 57, next to the DMV building, from 1-5 pm. Proceeds will go to help raise the $36,000 needed for the trip.
